Help needed Oh wise ones!

Just a question to other buyers. If u bought something from a blogshop and the seller made a mistake and sent u a wrong item, do u ask for refund or exchange or do nothing? If u ask for refund, do u ask postage to be refunded too? Since u also have to post back the item to them? Meaning u pay for postage first time to get it send to u, then another time to send the item back.

Sorry, i just want to know the right way of doing this. I'm sorta new.

  1. if it was me, i'll send back the item and ask for refund + postage fee, since it's clearly not my mistake.

  2. I follow international rules. If I send out the wrong item, I tell the customer to keep the item and I will send her the correct item free of charge. Of course I will lose out alot but it serves as a punishment and reminder for myself as a seller to be seriously focus next time. How else will I learn?

This is how US webstores work.

  3. I think requesting for a refund of postage fees is reasonable. :) Bottomline, you shouldn't be penalized for the seller's mistake. If the seller attempts to push the responsibility to you and refuses to refund you, sound her out first, then clearly avoid shopping with that seller again. :P

  4. You should ask for refund for the total amount that you paid before and the extra costs that you will have to bear when sending back the item.

  6. Wow, that means i got cheated! The seller gave me the wrong item and would only refund the actual price without postage. Some more she insisted i send the item back to her using poslaju also. Spend RM12 but dont get anything? Crazy. The item i wanted is sold out already so i can exchange, can only refund.

But since i really really dont want the item she sent i had to give in and send back the item to her. Feel so angry now!

  9. it happened to me once, the blogshop owner agreed to send me the right item FOC...of course i have to send back the wrong item, and she even refunded my postage fee...although i had to wait longer, but she was quite professional in correcting her mistake...;)

  10. I'm a seller. I would exchange the correct item ordered and bear all the postage fee. It's mine mistake after all.

  11. well i did a mistake in sending out the wrong item...but i guess it is common courtesy that since im the one who did the mistake i have to be responsible for it...but since the wrong item was meant for another customer so i had to ask her to return the item back to me...so i posted the correct item+free postage+the costs she had to pay+n 1 free item :) in the end...i didn't really get any profit...but knowing that your customer trusts you makes me feel happy :)
