Spoilt Pumps

I bought this pair of pumps from this pretty famous shoe-blogshop. Her shoes are all very nice, especially this pair of pumps which have been selling like instant hotcakes.

It was the last pair and it was my size.
It was perfect timing, prom was coming up that week.

So naturally i placed an order and paid her within minutes after confirmation.

Within 2 days, I received a card from Poslaju telling me to collect it from the post office. I was only my way to prom so I picked up the pumps (gorgeous as hell) and wore them straight to prom.

Everything was okay, everyone was complimenting on my gorgeous shoes. Until mid-party when I was on the dance floor, I started to feel uncomfortable. BOTH my toes started feeling sore. Later on, it became somewhat painful. It started to get so painful I had to stop dancing and ask my boyfriend to carry me to a chair.

I took off the shoes and my right big toe was BLEEDING!
Upon closer inspection, my boyfriend found a small nail poking out from the toe area. Imagine how furious I was! The other shoe also had a nail poking out, but not enough to make my left toe bleed yet.

We took the shoes, which I really hated at that moment, and tore them apart to see what's inside. Here's what we found out:

- The sole was cheaply glued, and definitely would start peeling off within 4-6 wears.

- Beneath the cheap sole was a cheap board-like material which had to be held together with those nails.

- A total of 8-10 nails in each shoe, all the sharp points facing upwards.

- The bottom sole of the shoe was actually nailed in, it was concealed by a piece of sticker which would definitely tear off after 6 wears outside. Even faster if it touches water.

The make of this shoe is so not sturdy, my boyfriend pointed out that it was because it was hollow on the inside, held together by mere nails and cheap board, that eventually it would not support my weight and hence why the nails poked out.

I called the seller to tell her about this.
NOT to scold her, cos I know this is the manufacturers fault.

Me: Hey babe, I think you should not buy from the supplier who sold you the pumps anymore, because it is of bad quality.

Seller: What's so bad?

Me: *told her the whole story in summary*

Seller: Hmm, no other customers complain also. I think you didn't wear properly or is too rough with the shoes.

Me: I just ONLY wore them tonight, and they are ruined just like that cos of its bad quality. RM80+ out of the window for nothing but a bleeding toe.

Seller: Well, sorry for your toe but sorry dear, I don't do refunds.

Me: (WTF?) I wasn't even asking for a refund, I'm just simply pointing out to you that the quality is bad and you shouldn't buy from the supplier who sold you these anymore. I'm not blaming you.

Seller: So you are saying it's my supplier's fault?

Me: Yes. And I don't want a refund.

Seller: I got the shoes from a manufacturer, not supplier.

Me: In that case you shouldn't anymore, they are the worst, cheap-assed manufacturers in the world. I've never seen such terrible shoes, I cannot understand why they don't do their quality checks properly and I think they're just out to scam our money.

Seller: .... My father is the manufacturer.

Me: Oh..

(awkward silence after that)

Me: Sorry, I didn't mean to insult your dad but I'm just giving an opinion.

(somewhere along, she hung up)

Seriously, what the hell?
I felt so bad for being mean unintentionally at that time.

But now I think that she deserves to be slapped for not accepting the facts and for hanging up on me just like that. Not even a word of apology even.
I feel so unjustified! Waste of money and everything else. :(

  6. Gosh, that is totally unacceptable! NAILS poking out of a pair of pumps!

That is really really dangerous babe, glad you found out early. The seller didn't even care about your pain, all she was thinking about is the money and reputation.

Please mail me the blogshop, thanks for sharing your experience!

  16. That's awful :/ I mean, even if her father was the supplier, that doesn't mean it's justified. She should've at the very least apologize, and at best refunded you.

Can I have the link to the blogshop? nadirah_amy at yahoo, thanks. I'd like to avoid this shop if possible :/ When you say well-known, only a few come to mind...

  23. I agree with anonymous 6!! Lucky it was your toe that got poked. Imagine your feet underneath (dont know what it's called :P).

I think that the "my father is the manufacturer" is a lie too! If the father can be the manufacturer i dont think she'll need to help him sell online. Plus, all these manufacturer comes from china or taiwan no? Hmmmm.

  29. Gawd that's awful. Hope your toe is ok :) And to think this could've been all avoided if she had just said sorry & offered some sort of assistance. If I were the Seller I would've been horrified & ask to meet up to see the condition of the shoe & offer a full refund.

Also to the Anon that said "I think that the "my father is the manufacturer" is a lie too!"
What you think Malaysian companies don't manufacture shoes issit? And I don't think she's helping him to sell shoes online. Seller is just making extra pocket money by selling what her father makes. She prolly asks for a few pairs of the designs she likes and sells them online just for fun & some extra cash. 20-40 pairs of shoes a month to give (or sell at cost) to his daughter ain't gonna make his company broke. And why not, I'd do it too if my dad manufactured something I can sell online. Problem is the Seller in this case needs to have a lesson in Customer Relations 101. Prolly needs to finish the whole diploma at that!
